March 2: Dr. Seuss’ Birthday

On Friday, we celebrated the birthday of Dr. Seuss, who wrote many fun and popular children’s stories such as The Cat in the Hat, Green Eggs and Ham, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, and The Lorax.  Do you know these books or movies?

We celebrated by learning to draw some of the characters, watching The Cat in the Hat Comes Back, reading some of the books with a partner, and having our principal read The Cat in Hat to us in our classroom.  We have 28 Dr. Seuss books in our classroom.  These are very popular, fun and funny.  They usually rhyme, have silly characters, and sometimes teach us a lesson.
